CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR CONSULTANCY TO SUPPORT PRODUCTION OF USER MANUAL ON COMMUNITY-POLICE RELATINS

1.0 Background

Kenya Community Support Centre (KECOSCE) is a Kenyan National NGO active in the Coast, Northern Kenya and Nairobi regions of Kenya. KECOSCE vision is a just, secure and progressive society. This is achieved through our strategic pillars including strengthening Democracy, Good governance and Human Rights, Supporting Sustainable Environment and Natural Resources Management, promoting Peace, Security and Inclusive Societies, enhancing Gender Equality and Empowerment of women and strengthening organizational sustainability.

2.0 About the Project

KECOSCE has received a grant from the Mensen met een Missie (MM www.mensenmeteenmiss.nl and with support from the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Kingdom of Netherlands to implement a five-year “Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA)” project in Kenya’s Kwale, Mombasa and Tana River counties. JISRA is an interfaith partnership that aims to address and transform intra-, inter-, and extra-religious dynamics to promote FoRB. JISRA further works within religious communities to challenge discrimination, extremist tendencies, and hate towards others (intrareligious sphere). This JISRA program is also engaging with county and national government and state agencies to make state actions toward religious freedom more effective, and challenge divisive policies and practices. KECOSCE has over the past 18 months been supporting activities aimed at improving community-police relations and have over the years invested in rebuilding the bridge and making policing services more people centered and human rights based.

3.0. Objective of the Assignment

KECOSCE intends to develop a best practices/user manual deriving from its years of supporting police-community relations and has been able to document its experiences in this sector. We are inviting interested experts to come and support in the development of this best practice/user manual on building community-police relations to support the JISRA program and also agencies working in this field.

4.0 Methodology

The consultant is required to choose and use suitable methodology which must be outlined in the technical proposal.

5.0 Duration

The services above are to be carried out over a period of approximately 15 working days.

6.0 METHOD OF APPLICATION
