Democratic Governance and Human Rights

The objective of this program seeks to equip the people at the Coast with the necessary knowledge, information and skills to enable them to demand for compliance to the principles of democratic governance, respect to human rights, and the tenets of human development by public institutions and those in leadership positions in the public sector in their daily activities and explores ways to make the process of governing more transparent, accountable and responsive.

Peace Building, Conflict Mitigation and Human Security

The objective of this program seeks to create awareness, equip communities with knowledge and skills on Peace building and Conflict transformation for social justice, peace and security. Other strategies involve strengthening government-civil society partnership institutions and enhancing civil society capacity for effective participation in the security sector development creating strong local level peace structures and mechanisms for peace building and conflict transformation.

Research, Documentation and Capacity Building

The objective of this program seeks to build the capacity of the youth to increase resilience to counter violent extremism, create community organizations and provide continuous space for dialogue among the communities, with public institutions, local authority officials, politicians and development actors to deal with grievances.

Economic Development and Asset Management

The overall purpose of the programme is to build capacities of the communities to sustainable conserve, manage community assets and establish social enterprise for poverty reduction and wealth creation.

Community economic transformation is a key element of KECOSCEs economic, social and broader sustainability agenda, through this program we aim to create a strong, healthy high income local economy that will underpin much of what the local communities value and desire in life. The specific objective is to empower communities to utilize available resources in their localities, within the county and their environs for poverty reduction and economic development.
