Action Plan for Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism Garissa County

This action plan has been developed as a result of collaborative and open conversations between various actors in Garissa. Rights Organization for Advancement of Development (ROAD) has convened these conversations. However, the role of ROAD has been much more of facilitators rather than principle conveners. The actual conveners of the sessions have been the office of the County Commissioner of Garissa through Mr. Joshua Chepchieng and that of this H.E. Governor Ali Korane, through the County Security Director, Rtd. Major Ibrahim Hassan Bare. These two gentlemen have guided ROAD and the large array of stakeholders in not just convening but also developing conversations that have generated an optimistic road map with the potential to pave the path for a safer and integrated Garissa County. We are glad that under this leadership, we now know ourselves better as a county.
