WORK HOURS: FULL TIME BASIS/PART-TIME

Job Summary:
Kenya Community Support Centre (KECOSCE) is a Kenyan National NGO that works with grassroots communities and at the county/national level to facilitate a just, secure and progressive society. KECOSCE is seeking to recruit a radio presenter to join its team of self-driven staff and contribute to the achievement of the organization’s vision. If you believe you have what it takes to fill the above position, take time and read through and apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing public service announcements and program briefs
- Interacting with guests, producers, and other staff members to ensure that all aspects of production are handled smoothly
- Providing information about current events or activities happening in the community
- Reporting on news stories provided by a newsroom staff or affiliate radio stations
- Preparing and delivering live broadcasts such as morning show segments or afternoon drive-time traffic reports
- Reviewing promotional materials such as brochures or pamphlets to ensure that they are effective
- Research, plan and develop on-air content, ideas, and concepts in line with the station’s strategy and values.
- On-air presentation/continuity and acting on feedback from listeners.
- Conceptualize and execute online campaigns for various projects
- Ensure all social media platforms are updated regularly
- Advise supervisor on new trends in online tools, applications, channels, design & strategy
Requirements
- Below 35 years of age
- A diploma in mass communication in Radio broadcast or broadcast journalism.
- Fluent in spoken and written English, Swahili, and local dialects spoken in Tana River with a rich voice with an ear for music.
- Able to work long hours/odd hours without supervision.
- Must be social media savvy, innovative, and creative
- Demonstrate professional approach and appearance including enthusiasm, drive, commitment, honesty, trust, and loyalty
- Keep abreast of evolving trends through continuing professional education in the area of digital platforms
- Understand Media Law and Ethics
