ToFoRB: Together for Religious Freedom in Coastal and Northeastern Kenya – 2024 – 2026

KECOSCE is in a consortium led by Search for Common Ground.  The consortium comprises of four organizations including Muslims for Human Rights, Kesho Alliance, and Kenya Community Support Center, Search.  The goal of this project is to advance freedom of religion and belief (FoRB) for marginalized religious communities in coastal and northeastern Kenya. The project is running from 2024 – 2026 and aims to   (1) increase the skills and awareness of key stakeholders (civil society actors including youth and women leaders, religious, security, and justice actors); (2) generate evidence on human rights abuses based on religion and belief; (3) provide opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between civil society, security, and justice actors, policy and decision makers to take collective action to protect FoRB and address discrimination against marginalized religious groups. The main actors and partners in this project include religious groups, community leaders, women, youth, media, local administration officers and national agencies responsible for access to justice and legislative bodies.  KECOSCE is leading implementation in Tana River County while other partners are focussing on Garissa, Lamu and at National Levels.
