Mombasa court yesterday ordered two men remanded for five days in a terror case.Police had sought the court’s order to hold Hassan Omar and Faiz Salim at the Port police station until investigations are complete. They informed the court that the two men are members of a terror group.Police constable Labson Muchira said the two have connections with the terror group and he has information to help in the probe.

Muchira said the two men were arrested on June 1 in Bamburi, Mombasa. He said preliminary investigations show they are involved in terror activities.“The investigations are wide and complex touching on parts of Somalia and thus we need more time to complete our work,” Muchiri said.Omar and Salim objected to the five-day remand saying it is too much time since the police had already began the investigation. They pleaded with the court to released them on bail as they wait for the investigations. The magistrate said they will be granted bail after the charges are confirmed. The case will be mentioned on June 8.
