SUMMARY: Kenya Community Support Centre (KECOSCE), is a registered NGO with its offices in Mombasa.  KECOSCE’s Vision is: A free, just and democratically governed society that upholds progressive equality with a mission to facilitate an equitable and secure society, by promoting good governance and sustainable social economic development at county and national level. KECOSCE operates within four programmes namely Peace and Security, Economic Empowerment, Democratic Governance and Women and Youth empowerment.

KECOSCE is currently implementing a Peace building and community cohesion project whose main objective is to Bridge the Gap between Youth in Coast and Government of Kenya (GoK) to prevent violent extremism and radicalization in four counties of Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi and Lamu.   KECOSCE is seeking to appoint field officers to assist the project coordinator in implementing the project.  The officers will assigned with following duties.

Duties/Assignments: The field officers will:

  • Organize joint discussion forums between the youth leadership and government officials
  • Organize team building sessions and friendly matches
  • Mobilize key leaders to participate in public open discussions at the District and Division levels.
  • Engage youth in governance and citizenship (including democracy, constitution reform, other post election violence reforms, and voting). 
  • Raise awareness on non-violence approaches to conflicts. Support youth in identifying, documenting, and reporting issues of concern for the youth to the relevant Government and non-governmental entities.
  • Educate youth on the diversity within the Coastal


The suitable candidates must meet the following requirements

1.  Has participated in KECOSCE youth-police engagement forums/youth challenges

2.  Knowledge on peace building and conflict transformation

3.  Experience in working with youth and government officials

4.  Demonstrated history of promoting peace, diversity and cohesion

5.  Posses O level certificates

6.  Computer literate
